The Riverford Field Kitchen has won Best Ethical Restaurant in the Observer Food Monthly awards.  It was a customer-voted award, so we want to thank everyone, including our hard-working team in the Field Kitchen, for their support. We're over the moon!  The Field Kitchen, our restaurant on the farm in Devon, has been going since 2005, serving freshly-picked organic food straight from our fields, cooked up by Jane Baxter and her team. Over the last four years, Jane's no-nonsense, gutsy dishes have won rave reviews from critics including Gordon Ramsay and the Guardian.

Paignton Zoo will have a new Easter egg trail for children over the Bank Holiday weekend. Good Friday 10th to Easter Monday 13th April. The Chocolate Tracks Easter Trail runs from Good Friday 10th April through to Easter Monday 13th April. Visitors will be able to hop, skip and jump their little bunnies around Paignton Zoo with this tasty activity trail. When they hand in their completed trails at the Egg Hut they receive a chocolate reward - and could be in with a chance of winning a bag full of Zoo goodies. In addition, it’s hoped that the Zoo’s four rare Sumatran tiger cubs will be on show to visitors by Easter – though this is entirely dependant on the weather and their mother, Banda

First Public appearance this Easter!  This is a rare chance indeed to see such a truly moving sight. All four cubs have survived and thrived over the last six weeks although it was expected one could die. Their antics will be able to be viewed by a remote-control web cam which will cover the large public tiger enclosure plus a second installed in one of the dens can be viewed on a flat screen monitor set up by the tiger enclosure window showing live pictures form the cameras. This system will go live at Easter when the cubs are due to make their first public appearance.

Easter Fun at Hillfields

There are lots of Easter activities going on in the Dartmouth area. Easter Bunny Egg hunts at Dartmouth Castle, Pennywell Park, Riverford Farm (fancy dress), Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway and Woodlands is open and in full swing with its new Seascape Mirror Maze creating amazing illusions.  So come along and enjoy all the fun with an Easter break with us here at Hillfields.
