Ashburton Food & Drink Festival - 10th September
Ashburton has long been known as a great place for food with farmer's markets, deli's, cafe's & restaurants, butchers, artisan bakers, fishmongers, a cookery school and some of Europe's finest food producers on our doorstep. With so much food and drink around, the Ashburton Festival Association thought we should celebrate it and in association with the Guild of St Lawrence and in partnership with the Ashburton Cookery School; we see the launch of the Ashburton Food and Drink Festival. more
Agatha Christie Week - 11th - 18th September 2011
Most of us, in one form or another, have enjoyed Agatha Christie’s work, whether in the glory of her books and plays, which of course she wrote herself, or in some adopted form for film, TV, computer games, radio and so on. Agatha Christie’s work has had the privilege and the benefit of being adapted, produced and directed by some of the best talents in the business and in some ways this will be a tribute to their skills.

Vintage Bus Day, Kingsbridge 17th September
The routes they plan to use are those formerly operated by the Great Western Railway Road Motors, the Western National Omnibus Company and other local operators such as Tally Ho! Services to Beesands, East Portlemouth, South Poole, Slapton, Salcombe, Hope Cove, Thurlestone, Bantham, Loddiswell, California Cross and East Allington are being scheduled as for the last two years. In 2010 we used mainly the routes operated at the 2008 event but with a greater variety of vehicles so that individual vehicles did fewer journeys. However the passenger demand increased by over 50% and, at times, intending passengers were disappointed. For 2011 they plan to introduce some new routes as well as increase the frequency on some of the more popular routes particularly to coastal destinations.
