Down on Pennywell Farm this Whitsun

On Thursday 28th and Friday 29th May Professor Malcolm Jephcott returns with Nutty Noah, bringing his own particular brand of side splitting nuttiness to Pennywell. And on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th May there will be comedy juggling in the Farmyard Theatre. Pennywell Farm offers hands on experience of handling farm animals from lambs to hens and piglets to alpacas. There is also falconry displays, quad bikes and the chance to drive you own mini tractor at the new Tractor Ted Village.  Pennywell Farm in open daily from 10am to 5pm.  www.pennywellfarm.co.uk

Riverford Field Kitchen

Calling all budding young gardeners and mini master chefs to On Tuesday 26th May you can have a go at cooking fresh seasonal produce and learn about how it is grown.  Early supper and tractor ride 27th & Riverford nature walk 28th May.  Book in advance by phone (01803 762074)

Dartmouth Castle

Experience life in a 19th Century Garrison at On Sunday 24th to Monday 25th May Victorian Gunners will be occupying the castle and recreating garrison life in the 19th century. There will be demonstrations of rifle and bayonet use and stories of how the garrison protected the town.  Dartmouth Castle has looked over the entrance to the Dart Estuary and the town of Dartmouth for 600 years and offers spectacular views. Introducing a new publication to enhance your enjoyment of your holiday in and around Dartmouth.  A copy of the Monthly Community Magazine and Business Directory for Dartmouth and surrounding Villages is provided in every Cottage and Apartment at Hillfields.  This month they continue Nick Shepard's journey along the Dart.  Interviews with the local Coastguard, Artist Trevor Price, the team on Resnova, Greenway's property manager and the Chairman of the music festival.  There is information about new business's in Dartmouth as well as reviews of some that are long long established.  We are hopeful of providing a regular link to this publication to keep the friends and regular Guest's of Hillfield with all the local gossip.. By the Dart
